Spirituality: True Self Respect Brings Inner Peace. ...

Self respect comes from  being able to define the world in your own terms and refusing  to abide by the judgements of others. To free ourselves from the expectations of others , to give us back to ourselves there lies the great , the singular power of self respect. Know your worth, know when you have had enough and move on from the people who keep chipping away at your happiness. To love yourself right from now, just as you are , is to give yourself heaven. Don't wait until you die. If you wait you die now , if you love, you live now. Don't ever dumb yourself down just to make someone else feel comfortable. Keep a little bit of attitude in your pocket. Don't use it to hurt others but use it when your self respect is being tested by other person.  Try not to take the things personally; what people say about you is a reflection of them, not yours. The way you treat yourself sets the standards for others on how you demand to be treated. Don't settle for anything other than respect. The moment you start going out of your way to beg someone for their attention, you devalue your self worth. Don't let your loyalty become slavery.know when you let go and never compromise on self respect. Remember, life is too short to waste any amount of time on wondering what other people think about you. If someone treates you like an option, leave them like a choice. Having self-respect helps others to see and treat you with dignity and worth. Often the backbone of self-respect is knowing your values and living by them. Having self-respect often means that you need to stand by your character and be willing to defend your values and actions. One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself. If you want to be respected by others, the great thing is to respect yourself. Only by that, only by self-respect you will compel others to respect you.😊
